CORPP OBJECTIVES AND TARGET GROUPS
 

General objectives

The organization aims to make anyone who comes into contact with osteopathy conscious of its scientific nature. While taking into consideration the characteristics of osteopathic principles, the organization wishes to elaborate scientific projects that have to lead to scientific publications concerning osteopathic medicine. Through the organization of postgraduate courses and conferences, it aims to propagate scientific training for osteopathic practices towards the professional. This way, professionals may also bring forward ideas that have to lead to new research projects. Finally, the organization also wants to promote osteopathic medicine properly, with all its possibilities and restrictions, within the health care system.
 

The organization wishes to:

  • Call projects for scientific research in osteopathic medicine;
  • Look for the necessary resources to carry out these scientific projects;
  • Have these projects published in scientific journals;
  • Contact experts in their field;
  • Give advice and logistic support for scientific research in osteopathic medicine;
  • Evaluate scrupulously research projects in osteopathic medicine;
  • Pass on information about research projects in osteopathic medicine;
  • Organize postgraduate courses and conferences;
  • See to the proper promotion of osteopathic medicine within the health care system;
  • Determine scrupulously the role of osteopathic medicine within the health care system, by means of the osteopath DO’s profile and, subsequently, of the training in osteopathy.

Specific objectives for each target group

Osteopaths in training

  • The organization seeks to make people conscious of the importance of the scientific nature of osteopathic medicine;
  • The organization wants to offer assistance in an active way to the scientific education within the osteopathic training;
  • The organization wants to inform the osteopath in training about any scientific publication concerning osteopathic medicine or other relevant scientific publications;
  • The organization wants to offer thesis students the opportunity to participate in research projects that are related to their thesis;
  • The organization wishes to support actively the current policy on thesises, in cooperation with other organizations that are operating in this field;
  • The organization wants to make recommendations when an osteopathic practice is being set up.

Osteopaths DO

  • The organization wants to organize postgraduate courses and conferences;
  • The organization wants to inform osteopaths DO about any scientific publication concerning osteopathic medicine or other relevant scientific publications;
  • The organization wants to make recommendations when an osteopathic practice is being set up;
  • The organization aims at high-quality care and quality broadening within its field of action, by way of supporting acknowledgements;
  • The organization wants to help in the formulation and defence of moral regulations and professional ethics.

Third parties

  • The organization wants to promote osteopathic medicine properly towards third parties;
  • The organization wants to support and advise promotion of osteopathic medicine by third parties;
  • The organization wants to translate publications concerning osteopathic medicine for third parties.
