• Research: clinical research regarding osteopathy, fundamental research regarding osteopathy, research into the principles within osteopathy and especially the development and assistance of research projects and fund-raising.
• Practice: at the one hand the endeavour to substantiate the clinical practice for instance by stimulating the research for aspects of the clinical practice. At the other hand, the endeavour to implement the results of the research into the clinical practice for instance by organizing postgraduate training whereby new diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities are explored, assessed and developed. 
• Promotion: promotion of all possible aspects of the osteopathic medicine in the widest sense of the word, as for instance the publication of scientific papers, the distribution of correct information about the osteopathic medicine by means of a website and a newsletter as well as organising conferences and congresses.
